Love Bath, 2008

Stainless steel, metal foil,

motorised fan, magnets

120 ins x 40 ins

This concept of this a kinetic sculpture was to express the lightness of the sensation of being in love using a material that is unyielding and tough. The cycle begins with the storm fan going on. Fluttering hearts made of metal foil are churned upwards to the top of the acrylic chamber. When the fan stops they shower down on the larger than life-size figure. As the electro magnets in the figure switch on, the hearts cling to her body, and drop off when the magnets switch off. The cycle gets repeated over and over again.
