A series of 12 self portraits after a mastectomy explore the importance of body parts. Discussions around reconstructive surgery and the ability reposition material from one part of the body to another or even from one person to another, led to this exploration of the

transmutability of flesh.In the portraits I substitute the missing breast with seemingly 

innocuous domestic objects like a clock, a cheap souvenir, a CD, a fruit, etc, like a residue from a previous time.
