By disconnecting the subject from a larger context and controlling how the image is viewed, vivid photographs of food become pornographic representations. Led through a red door into a womblike space, where the images are seen through slits. The viewer is forced to acquire the posture of a peeping Tom, further disengaging the image and its environment, creating a distorted understanding of the subject. It becomes something repulsive, salacious and forbidden. Referencing the selective voyeuristic gaze the female body is subjected to resulting in objectifying its sexuality.
First exhibited at Sensorium Festival, Goa, 2014.
