Gopika Chowfla is a graphic designer and visual arts practitioner with a BFA degree from the MSU, Baroda. Her career as a creative professional spans over 30 years, predominantly as a designer. Currently, she is the principle partner at GCD Studio, a reputed design practice based in Delhi and Goa and co-founder of Goa Open Arts Foundation.
Through Gopika's career as a designer, she has remained engaged with the visual arts, creating personal as well as collaborative artistic projects. Her work is significantly informed by her experience in the commercial universe of advertising and design and the themes she works on draw on the narratives of a post-modern, consumer society. Using photography, graphic arts, digital technology, video arts and media as wide-ranging as stainless steel and embroidery, she has created installations and experiences that open dialogues within the context of our contemporary social and cultural framework.

In 2020 Gopika along with photographer Prashant Panjiar co-founded Goa Open Arts Foundation, a not-for-profit platform to promote and engage with Goa based artists, through festivals, exhibitions, grants.
